Jesutofunmi Omiye

Jesutofunmi Omiye graduated with a MS in Health Policy in 2023. He received his medical degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he was a Federal Government and Shell University Scholar. 

As a medical student, Tofunmi served as the chair of a pan-African health conference where he worked with the WHO, Gates Foundation, and Johnson & Johnson towards creating a premier platform of discussion on healthcare. He has managed funds of over $90,000 towards various healthcare projects across Africa which have been recognized by the UN. His work has been published in many international journals and has been featured in top national and international news media including Guardian. 

Also, he is the co-founder of The Ganglion Initiative, a non-profit that has provided educational and career empowerment schemes to over 8,000 students. He also serves on the board of the ACE5 initiative, an NGO focused on the holistic development of orphans and less-privileged children in Nigeria. 

Tofunmi is a Research assistant in the Ross Lab in the vascular surgery department where he is focused on using machine learning to improve healthcare outcomes.

He is keenly interested in developing solutions at the nexus of health, technology, and policy. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, studying the financial markets, Kendrick, and Afrobeats music.
