Biography
Mauricio Lopez-Mendez, PhD, MPP, focuses on developing and applying decision models to assess the value, cost-effectiveness, and affordability of policies and health technologies impacting long-term healthcare outcomes. Part of his work involves quantifying the preferences of dyads composed of people with dementia and their caregivers and creating frameworks for integrating these preferences of dyads into decision-making. He also evaluates the economic impact of non-pharmacological interventions that help people with dementia stay in their homes longer and builds data-driven models of the epidemiological and socio-economic processes affecting their health and care experience. Mauricio earned his PhD in health services research from Brown University and a master’s in public policy analysis from the University of Chicago.
