Biography
Felipe is a joint postdoctoral researcher with the Stanford Health Policy and MS&E departments. His research aims to contribute to the theory and practice of health models as a tool to guide decision-making in large-scale health systems, considering restrictions that limit the space for action such as the availability of resources, health personnel or risks associated with tests, among others.
In the case of cancer models, he is interested in new methods for the efficient calibration of stochastic models with real data subject to uncertainty. From them he intends to quantify the effects of screening and treatment policies from the point of view of the central planner and estimate the uncertainties associated with these predictions, together with the effect of trends observed in the long term.
For the case of organ transplants, his research aims to improve the efficiency of waiting lists at a national level in the USA, using simulations and game theory techniques to model the effects of potential policy changes on the long-term behavior of relevant stakeholders, and evaluating the potential impacts in terms of equity in the allocations obtained.
