Biography

Carter Nakamoto is a current PhD student in Health Policy in the Evaluative Methods track. They studied chemical and physical biology, statistics, and health policy as an undergraduate at Harvard. After graduating, they worked with Professor Ateev Mehrotra at Harvard Medical School to characterize and evaluate new modalities of clinical care, including telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, and opioid treatment programs. Carter's research seeks to use statistical tools to understand how clinical algorithms and technologies impact equity and access in health care and how policy can improve these outcomes. Their work as been published in numerous journals, including the Annals of Internal Medicine and JAMA Internal Medicine.
