Camille Hironaka

Camille Hironaka, MD, is a master's student at Stanford Health Policy and a general surgery resident at Stanford Medicine with a clinical interest in surgical oncology. She graduated with research honors from Tufts University School of Medicine, and summa cum laude from Tufts University, where her previous research was on myocardial regeneration. Her clinical experiences, however, prompted her to shift her research focus away from the wet lab and toward health services. Dr. Hironaka examines how insurance networks affect access to and outcomes for surgical cancer care, with the ultimate goal of making access to cancer care more equitable.
