Research Interests

Comparative health systems, long-run economic development, international taxation, poverty and health inequality.


Prior to joining Stanford in 2016, Roman received a B.Sc. in International Economics and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Tübingen. He studied abroad at the University of Michigan, and spent several months in Egypt, interning and improving his Arabic language skills. At Stanford, Roman’s research assistance focuses on the impact of providing patients with personalized health plan choice tools, as well as drawing lessons from foreign healthcare system reforms for other developed countries.
