Biography

Katie Henaghan is the Program Manager for the Prevention Policy Modeling Lab (PPML) within the School of Medicine’s Department of Health Policy/Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies’ Center for Health Policy. She joined the team in June 2021. As the PPML’s Program Manager, she oversees and administers the research activities of a multi-institution research consortium that conducts health and economic modeling related to infectious diseases, such as sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis. 

Prior to receiving her Master’s in Public Health (Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences; Maternal and Child Health Certificate) from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, Katie worked in international development and global health. During her graduate studies, she gained experience in qualitative research while working on two maternal mortality projects and was a teaching assistant for an abortion course. Her interests include sexual and reproductive health (particularly contraceptive access), health policy, and health equity.
